Our Story: A Journey That Started 6 Years Ago
I'm Kath. Six years ago, we had our first child and our lives changed forever! Until then, we'd been a typical professional couple - commuting, working hard and having lots of fun. And some things we didn't really want to change!
We needed a nanny: I registered with about 20 agencies (and met one). I read heaps of CVs, I filtered, I interviewed, I interviewed some more. I realised it was very different from recruiting at work! It was so hard. After months of searching we got lucky. We found Sarah.
Fast forward five years: Sarah's moving North. My search is on again. Despite all I've learnt, it's harder. I'm working full time. So, I register with more agencies (meet none). I receive CVs, I interview, I select. This time we aren't so lucky; things fall apart.
A thought: There must be a better way - one where someone spends time understanding families, nannies and their individuality. Then matches the right nanny with the right family to give them both a long-lasting solution.
That's why I launched Independence Childcare and we'll be doing things differently.
We're a young business operating in South West London, Middlesex and Surrey. For now. Who knows, one day we may go global!
What We Do For You
Your time is precious. And we don't want to waste it.
We won't recommend fruitless interviews. We only send CVs to suggest interviews we believe will lead to a successful childcare solution.
So we meet you all and find out what matters to you. We want to get to know you pretty well.
We will also provide support to nannies and families, should you want it, once you start working together.
