Residential Support Worker roles in Newcastle under Lyme and Stoke on Trent

I am currently working exclusively with a family-orientated children’s residential care provider who are looking to recruit a number of qualified Residential Support Workers as they begin to expand and open new homes throughout the local area. It is clear from meeting with the Directors of this organisation that the care and well-being of the service users is paramount and as such, go above and beyond in ensuring that all of their staff are rewarded with competitive salaries and impressive career progression opportunities.

You will work closely with highly experienced Registered and Deputy Managers where you will have the opportunity to work across multiple homes throughout the service, primarily supporting children aged between 8-16 years, within an EBD and learning disability setting. You will have a strong focus on building a family orientated, therapeutic environment for the children within the home, in order to build and develop their self-esteem and core life skills as they progress forward into an adolescence.

All applicants must possess at least NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People and have extensive experience supporting children and young people within a similar residential care setting with challenging behaviours and learning disabilities. A full clean driving license is desirable however this is not essential. Flexibility on shifts is essential as Support Workers currently have the choice of two different shift patterns. These patterns are either two on three off, or alternatively two on two off and three on. All are full days with sleep in allowances, which are paid for.

As mentioned this care provider is a true believer in promoting their staff appropriately and ensuring they are rewarded to full potential, which reflect on the excellent care standards this provision delivers. As such you will benefit from a fantastic initial salary from £23,086 to £27,000 which is dependent on your chosen shift pattern. This organisation is a firm believer in enhancing their internal staffing team and frequently look to progress Support Workers forward to senior positions and beyond. The opportunity to enhance your career is only going to increase further as the organisation puts into place its progression plans. Other benefits include 18-23 days of annual leave plus bank holidays and the job satisfaction of working in a home which is currently rated as ‘GOOD’ to ‘OUTSTANDING’ by OFSTED, along with working alongside an experienced team of support workers and senior management teams.
