Teaching Assistant job – Monmouthshire
Full time and long term
Key stage 3 support

A job (long-term) has become available for a Teaching Assistant to provide support for pupils at Key Stage 3 in a comprehensive school in Monmouthshire. This job is to start immediately and is fixed until the end of the academic year, with the likelihood of extension in September 2018.

This is a large comprehensive school, which also houses a large sixth form. This school provides a nurturing environment for pupils and strives to support them in fulfilling their potential in all aspects. The school is well respected in the community and known for its encouragement of extra-curricular activities, charity work and leadership programmes.

The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team, working to support small groups of pupils. All lessons and tasks will be planned, delivered and directed by the class teacher – you will be sitting with the groups of pupils in the classroom, ensuring that they understand what is required of them, that they are on task to complete the work that is required of them. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be able to differentiate between the varying ability levels of the pupils and be able to adapt your support methods accordingly. You may also be asked on occasion by the class teacher to provide 1:1 support to the pupils if needed.

The right person for this job will be enthusiastic in nature, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

In order to apply for this position you will need to have;

  • Recent and relevant experience of working within a classroom environment
  • Be genuinely enthusiastic in nature
  • Able to build good working relationships with others
  • Able to apply appropriate behaviour management techniques to keep pupils focused

You will be paid between £50 - £60 Per Day (on a weekly basis) within a secure, long term position where your personal development and career growth will be encouraged with opportunities for further work. This position would be ideal for someone who is looking to work under a supportive and effective leadership and for someone who wants to works as part of a team.
