Job in private family: Start date – June/July 2019

Location: Mayfair, moving to Knightsbridge Nov / Dec 2019, London

Position: Senior Rota Nanny / Governess

Salary: £60,000-£65,000 gross PA

This busy family are looking for a looking for a mature, experienced, professional senior rota nanny / governess to care for two boys (Feb 2015 and March 2017). The eldest boy currently attends nursery 3.5 days per week and will be starting full time school in September (finishing at lunchtime on a Friday). The youngest attends groups such as little kickers, paint pots and monkey music. He will be starting nursery in September and will eventually be doing 3 days and 1 morning per week. Both boys are active, energetic and very bright children - they need to be stimulated and both have a love for learning! This is a very relaxed, respectful family who want the boys to have fun with the people caring for them whilst ensuring that they are getting the very best possible care.

The senior rota nanny /governess will be working 24 hours per day 7 days on and 7 days off alongside another senior rota nanny/governess. This is a busy household and it is essential that everything runs smoothly for the family. In this respect team work is paramount - the nanny / governess will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively as a team with the other nanny / governess and with the rest of the household staff. When working the nanny / governess will have their own bedroom and a bathroom shared with the children. When the family has moved to Knightsbridge the nanny / governess will have their own bedroom and bathroom.

The nanny / governess should understand the needs of older children and have had experience of working with both school and nursery age children – knowledge and experience of supporting children with phonics, reading and writing is essential and some knowledge of Mandarin would be advantageous (but not essential). The nanny / governess will be required to support the eldest boy with his homework and coordinate / deliver creative extra curricula extension activities for both boys after school and at weekends. They will also be required to provide a homely environment which is caring yet stimulating and engaging.

The family are looking for a nanny / governess who can demonstrate at interview that they have undertaken recent CPD in early years including participation in relevant training courses, as well as having undertaken their own reading and research. They will have a desire to continue to enhance and develop their own knowledge through regular CPD activities and for this to be demonstrated in their practice. The nanny / governess needs to be someone who wants to see the children through this next stage in their lives and who is looking for a long-term position where they can put their skills to use and reap the rewards by seeing the development of the children that they are caring for.

This is a fully staffed household, however from September when the family move to Knightsbridge, responsibility for normal nursery duties will be expected from the nanny / governess such as doing the children’s laundry and cooking for them.

The nanny / governess would be required (on a rota basis) to travel with the family in the summer to Monaco and then to Barbados/LA over Christmas and new year.

A car driver is not essential. The family have 2 dogs.

Closing date: 18 June 2019

Face to Face interview: 27 or 28 June 2019, London
