Seeking a confident and engaging teacher to deliver resistant materials and Food Tech to MLD pupils.

Your new company
Hays Education are currently working with a Sandwell Special School that supports individuals with Social Emotional Mental Health challenges and/ or Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). This Sandwell based SEN school has had a recent rebuild so the school has a fresh look is well resourced and is fantastic setting to work in. The school provides support to pupils across KS3 – KS4 who have specific and moderate learning difficulties.

Your new role
This is an active Teaching job involving planning, making and assessments, teaching DT - specifically resistant materials (wood work and metals) and Food Tech to small class sizes of students across KS3 and KS4 and will start from January 2018 or sooner, with the likelihood of continuing for the rest of the academic year. Consequently you should be engaging passionate individual with the ability to engage disaffected individuals with special educational needs. Key aspects of this job include working the learning support staff and ensuring students make progress. This is a full time role.

What you'll need to succeed
To be suitable for this role you should be a Teacher with QTS have experience of working with children or young people with emotional behavioural and social difficulties (EBSD/ BESD/ EBD) and/ or Autism. You will be a DT specialist or have recent or significant experience of teaching Resistant Materials and Food Tech. You must have a minimum of 40 days experience of working in schools, centres or provisions that support EBSD/ BESD/ EBD which can be referenced. You will be patient and passionate in your approach and be outcomes focussed. A team teach qualification or training in crisis prevention (PROACT SKIP/ MAPA/ TEACHH) is advantageous.
