Seeking a warm caring attentive person to support Primary aged SEND Pupils

Hays Education are currently working with a Worcester Special school that supports individuals with Complex Needs, Physical Disabilities, Severe and Moderate Learning Difficulties. The school supports Primary and secondary aged pupils with additional Needs, is well resourced and have a strong team ethos.

Your new role
Are you someone who enjoys the reward of working in the personalised learning dynamic that SEN brings. In this job you will be working on either 1:1 or with small groups of pupils with moderate, severe learning difficulties and complex needs. A number of pupils are on the autistic spectrum and or have profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). The job will see you working across KS3 and KS4, supporting on curriculum delivery, contribute to logs, reports and help pupils manage their behaviour. The ability to support non-verbal learners and those with challenges in verbal communication, is a key part of the role and so experience of working pupils on P-Levels and using Makaton and/ or PECS is essential.

What you'll need to succeed
To be a suitable consideration for this job you will have recent or significant experience of working with individuals with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) Autism (ASD) and complex needs (SLD or PMLD). Ideally you will have a NVQ in childcare or social care , and have supported additional needs within an Education or care setting. Team Teach training or restraint training is advantageous. Previous experience of working with personalised learning plans and work stations would be beneficial. You will be patient warm and friendly in your approach.
